I’ve been on all ends of the fitness spectrum.
I’ve been the girl who would lie down in the field during grade school soccer games and pick dandelions.
I’ve been the girl picked last during gym class because I was far too busy gossiping and talking about boys to care about whatever game we might be playing.
I’ve been the girl to sign up for a 1/2 marathon only to give up after my four mile training run.
I’ve also been the girl that has crossed the finish line of another half marathon in 102 degree heat feeling as proud as I have ever felt of myself.
I’ve been the girl who sets her alarm for 5:30 a.m. five times a week to get my workouts in before work.
I’ve been a cardio junkie, a body pump enthusiast, a 6 a.m. spin class regular, etc. etc. etc.
I’ve basically tried it all, and in the past year I have realized that I don’t need to give myself fully to any of these things. I have let go of the all or nothing approach, and I am finding balance. Some days I will push harder, other days I’ll take it easy. With a combination of all the fitness things I love, I won’t burn out. I will stick to it.
