I’m so happy that everyone is enjoying hearing my cruise recaps! It’s so much fun to write about all the places we visited, it makes me want to go back so bad! We are enjoying getting back into our routines though. One thing that I missed desperately while cruising around the Mediterranean?
My Kombucha fix. I can’t put into words how excited I was to sip this little treat. I was a happy girl!
Another thing that I missed while we were gone?
My family!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love Bobby’s family like my own, and I couldn’t ask for better in-law, but I missed my mom, Nana, and my brothers almost as much as I missed my Kombucha (sort of kidding)!
Bobby was away for work and the sun was shining, so on Thursday, I packed a bag and headed down to the shore for some family time! It was a perfect day!
I spent most of the afternoon with my mom and Nana lounging around Nana’s pool while I filled them in on all the details of our trip.
After a lazy afternoon in the sun, I knew I wanted to get in a workout before dinner. It was extremely hot and humid outside, so running was out of the question. I decided to tackle an Insanity workout.
So here’s the thing… my brother started doing Insanity a few months ago, and he loves it. The first time he did it, though… he threw up.
Have I been giving him a hard time about this little fact ever since my mom spilled this gem of a secret to me?
You bet I have.
He’s my brother. I haven’t let him live it down. So when he urged me to give the workout a try, I took it as a challenge. Start with the warm-up DVD? Nah. I wanted the full on Shaun T. experience.
Guys, Insanity is no joke.
Did I throw up? No…. but I almost did.
Anyway, after nearly killing myself with this workout (but convincing my brother that it was a piece of cake for me
)and a much-needed shower, we decided to go to our favorite summertime restaurant…. Boondocks (the same place Bobby threw my surprise 30th birthday)!
It was a beautiful, hot night… perfect for eating some lobsters and drinking chilled wine on the water!
When we got home from dinner, the night continued when Nana broke open the Limoncello that I brought back from Italy…
I’ve told you before, and I’ll say it again… my Nana knows how to party. Around 1:30 a.m. we finally corked the Limoncello and put ourselves to bed. It was a perfect night!
As for today… I’m so excited because Bobby and I are celebrating our anniversary! Yes, it really was two weeks ago, and we had an amazing dinner in Barcelona to celebrate, but we decided it would be nice to celebrate it when we aren’t running on an hour of sleep.
We’ve got gifts to exchange, our wedding album to look at for the first time (!!!), a delicious dinner planned, and of course… our wedding cake to eat!
Enjoy your Saturday!
Have you ever tried Insanity??
What was the toughest workout you’ve ever done?
How are you spending your Saturday?

What is Kombucha? I’ve never even heard of it. You are so right about Insanity!! I just finished it a few months ago and yes it is NO JOKE!!!
Kombucha is a tea that apparently has a ton of great health benefits… here’s a website for the kind that I love if you want to read about it… http://www.synergydrinks.com/
Enjoy your anniversary dinner! Let me know how your cake tastes! We froze ours, and I’m afraid that it won’t taste good next year!
Thanks! Actually our bakery gives a free replica of the top tier on the first anniversary, so we never froze ours. I know people who have though and they say it tastes good!
Sent from my iPhone
We froze ours, and it was surprisingly tasty! And my mom didn’t even do that good of a job wrapping it up before hand! Enjoy your replica cake! Take pics!
Oh, that’s nice! I think we might go back to our bakery and buy an anniversary cake. They do them for a reasonable price, and I think it might taste better!
I am terrified to do insanity. Man nice job girl! I can’t wait to be in the cape next weekend because I need my lobster fix asap!
You should try it! It’s hard, but you can always stop and take breaks if you need to. That’s great that you’re going to the Cape, that’ll be perfect!!
It’s always nice to come back to the comforts of home- family especially!
…..That is great that you are going to celebrate your anniversary again!! You won’t regret it- enjoy the evening, and the cake!! Mmmmmm!!!
The cake…. Amazing.
I LOVE the pic of you guys eating the seafood! Those bibs crack me up every time
Your cruise looks ridiculous – bucket list experience, for sure! And btw, welcome back
Thanks Erin!
I agree – Insanity is HARD. I thought P90x was a challenge but it makes P90X look like a piece of cake!! I had to stop mid-Insanity workout to take a breather (and to ensure I didn’t vomit everywhere!!!)
As for my Saturday, I went on a 4 mile run and am now at a Starbucks – catching up on reading/writing blogs!
Awesome run! Sounds like a great little Saturday!
Wow, awesome job on your workout! It looks like it really kicked your butt
My butt was officially kicked!
Oh your nana is too adorable. I love that she was up until 1:30 in the morning throwing back some wine ((okay maybe not throwing it back, but enjoying it haha)). Hope you and the hubby have a wonderful day celebrating your Anniversary today. Can’t wait to hear all about it
I really enjoyed the few insanity dvd’s I did.. however, it just isn’t the same to me as running so I never finished :-X.
Your grandma knows what’s up.
I tried Insanity a couple times, too, but it’s too easy to slack off for me when I am just working out in my house. :-\
Enjoy your anniversary!
