Cruise Recap: Cannes, France

Hi guys and gals!  How’s everyone’s week going?  I’m finally starting to feel like myself again after a few good workouts in my own gym, some healthy meals, and good nights of sleep.  Traveling around Europe for two weeks really threw my eating and sleeping habits out of whack, that’s for sure!

Anyway, I thought I’d share a bit more of our vacation today!  When I left off, we were finally getting some shut-eye after trying to function on no sleep for over 24 hours and celebrating our 1st anniversary in Barcelona!

The next morning, we met up with my amazing in-laws (Bobby’s mom, dad, sister and brother) and boarded the ship!  We were all so excited to get this once in a lifetime trip started!

Our first stop?  Cannes, France!

I woke up bright and early after the first night at sea and saw our ship arriving in port.

Beautiful sunrise from our balcony…

Once I got in a good workout and the rest of the family woke up, we fueled up before heading out to explore!  We didn’t have a tour scheduled, so we spent our morning exploring Cannes and taking in all the sights.

I had no idea what to expect (except, of course, what I’ve seen in US Weekly from the Cannes Film Festival), but Cannes turned out to be such a beautiful city!  It was very clean and there clearly is a load of money in those parts!  The yachts were incredible and about 15 times the size of our little apartment! :)

After walking around for a while, we found a little outdoor cafe and decided to stop for a typical French lunch of red wine, crisp French bread, and crepes!

We had such a great lunch before spending our afternoon walking around some more, doing some souvenir shopping, and of course, stopping for a delicious macaroon!

After a full day, we headed back to the ship to get ready for our first Formal Night (same dress as our Rehearsal Dinner!).

After a delicious dinner, we were exhausted and went back to our room to find a special belated anniversary surprise!

It was a perfect ending to our first day!  :)

How beautiful! I spent a couple weeks in the south of France in a mini study abroad trip in high school and LOVED it. I think I could’ve gotten used to living there :-)
