It’s a Thankful Thursday

Today as I was driving to work the sun was shining bright, I was listening to the fabulous Smash Pandora station (check it out now, thank me later), and I was just feeling so thankful.

This week was a tough one.  Six years ago yesterday I heard my Paggie (my grandpa) take his last breath as he passed away after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  It was a devastating, tough time for me and my family, and each year I get pretty emotional as May 16th rolls around.

Yesterday I wasn’t so happy…. today though, I was happy, and so thankful.  I realized how lucky I was to have had the chance to be so close with my amazing grandfather.  He made me who I am today, and I know he would be proud.  :)

I’m thankful for so much in my life, but I wanted to share some things that I am especially thankful for these days….

Friends

My college friends are like family to me, and the fact that I get to see all of them this weekend has me feeling extra thankful.  Remember when I traveled to Las Vegas for the bachelorette party for one of my very best friends?  Well, this weekend the bachelorette is becoming the bride!  I couldn’t be more excited to spend every second of this weekend (which also happens to be the last one in my 20′s… eeeekkkk!) celebrating such an amazing couple with all of my best friends.  This wedding will be one for the books, that’s for sure. ;)

Brothers

My brothers are everything to me, and I truly have no idea what I would do if they weren’t in my life.  Recently one of them has been going through a really rough time, and has been pretty sick.  It’s broken my heart to see him struggling.  I’m thankful that for the moment, he is in a good place, and I’m continuing to pray that it stays that way.

My Mom and Nana

If there are two people in this world who I would choose to sit down and have bottles a glass of wine with, it would be these two ladies.  I’ll be doing just that next weekend, and I can’t wait!  I miss them so much when I go a few days without seeing them, it’s really ridiculous.  I’m so thankful for the close relationship that we have.

 Summertime is on its way!!!

Summer is right around the corner, friends!  Flip flops, tan lines, sundresses, BBQs, sandy toes, salt water, corn on the cob, and watermelon are all screaming my name right now.  Not only am I seriously excited for all of that, but this summer we are going on two cruises.  One with my family (for my Nana’s 80th birthday) to Bermuda, and one with Bobby’s family (for his dad’s 60th birthday) to the Mediterranean.  It’s okay to be jealous and kind of hate my guts for that…. I understand.  We are two lucky people, and I am thankful. :)

Having only one black and blue toenail

No picture, because that would be gross… but after my first half marathon I lost 3 toenails.  This time though, I only have one black and blue toenail and that little sucker seems to be holding on!  Yippie! :)

My 22 third graders…

They make me happy on a daily basis, and always know how to make me smile when I need it most.

This guy…

No words to describe how thankful I am for him, absolutly no words.

So now that I’ve shared with you what made me thankful today, I want to hear what you are thankful for!  Please share, let’s all be thankful and happy going into Friday! :)

Have a great weekend everyone, I’ll be seeing you on Monday (or Sunday if I’m feeling extra motivated. ;) )

  1. I am so thankful for my two healthy little girls and husband every day. Health is something never to take for granted!

  2. I have boat loads to be thankful for! Family, friends, the amazing husband, and the little kick/punches I get from the new member of our family! :) God has truly blessed me!
…..Your thankfulness is wonderful- so many amazing things in your life too! ….And, I do hate your guts a little bit about the cruises- and the fact that you’ll be in a swimsuit looking great while I’m landlocked and looking huge…. but I’m still thankful I’ll be huge :)

    • Hahah but think of it this way…, you’ll be carrying around your precious little miracle with you and getting ready to meet him/her!! Must be the most amazing feeling ever! :) . THAT takes the cake!

I’m so thankful for friends, family, my amazing boyfriend (who is in town right now!), and my doggie :-) And I can’t say I’m not thankful for how close we are to summer!!

I am so jealous of those cruises – but I still hope you have a fabulous time and I’m so excited for you :-)
Have fun at the wedding this weekend!! I can’t wait to hear about it!

  4. Love notes from students!

  5. I’m very thankful for my lovely family and friends

  6. I think this might be the first summer in as long as I can remember that I don’t have a black and blue toenail! I’ve been mixing up running with a lot more biking and lifting lately, and now am crazy excited for a summer of pedicures :)

  7. A Smash Pandora station?! Shut the front door. We don’t get Pandora in Canada!!!! This sounds brilliant. I must find a Canadian equivalent. Ahh!
