Hi friends!
I hope your week is off to a good start! I’m a little tired today (then again… when am I not?!), but it’s been a great start to the work week regardless. I started off my Monday morning as I do most…. with a sweaty spin class!
This past weekend was fun-filled and busy, busy, busy! Friday night was a rehearsal dinner for our very good friends wedding. Bobby and I were both in the wedding so it was even more fun having him involved as well!
The wedding activities started around 10 a.m. on Saturday when the bridesmaids all gathered in the bride’s hotel room to start the preparation!
After getting our makeup and hair done, we headed outdoors for some pictures with a gorgeous backdrop of the Hudson River and Manhattan!
Beautiful bride and some bridesmaids (clearly I have something important to say in this picture… although nobody is listening. Hmmm…)
After a quick round of pictures, we headed indoors for the ceremony! Unfortunately, since Bobby and I were both in the wedding, I don’t have any pictures, but I can assure you that it was beautiful!
Then it was time for the reception! We enjoyed a cocktail hour with delicious passed appetizers and some bubbly before moving into the reception hall. The view was breathtaking!
We enjoyed some dancing before the buffet was open for dinner! Sushi, filet mignon, salmon, and a pasta station were the hits of the night, and I managed to taste my way through all the stations of course!
After a delicious dinner, we hit the dance floor and spent the remainder of the night cuttin’ a rug!
As the reception was coming to an end, the D.J. announced that there was a chocolate fountain available for treats on our way out. Of course, that is about the time that my camera died, but I quickly made my way to this fountain and had quite a few chocolate covered pretzels. I have the stains on my dress to prove it.
Once Bobby managed to pry me from the fountain, we hung out at the hotel bar for another cocktail or two before calling it a night! It was such a great night celebrating the beautiful newlyweds!
Foodie Pen Pals
Switching gears quite a bit, I decided to participate in Foodie Pen Pals for the month of April which is hosted by the lovely Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean!
If your interested in joining or participating for the month, check out Lindsay’s blog for the details!
I was so excited when I received my package in the mail from Amorette! Before sending the package, she had asked me if I had any preferences, and being that I love trying new foods, I told her that I’d be thrilled with anything!
(Everytime I try to edit this picture and turn it correctly, my wordpress browser shuts down… I really apologize… but my patience is currently depleted… sideways it is.)
In my package: Margerita Krackers, Seasoned Seaweed, Roasted Chestnuts, and a sweet note from Amorette!
I immediately tore into the Margerita Krackers which were delicious! I absolutely loved them… they were crunchy and so full of flavor! I’m a huge fan of seaweed, so I loved that as well (perfect snack to throw in my bag to bring to school!) I have to admit I wasn’t a huge fan of the chestnuts (although Bobby loved them), mainly because I didn’t really enjoy the consistency of them. I always thought that chestnuts were supposed to be hard, but these were very soft, almost like a chickpea? Regardless, I loved trying new snacks!
Thank you so much Amorette!
Have you ever eaten roasted chestnuts? What did you think?
What was the best thing you ate or drank this weekend??
Tell me the highlight of your weekend!!

The view behind the cake looks amazing. What a great location for a wedding! I love weddings. We have one coming up in 3 weeks and I can’t wait. My whole weekend was fantastic but the highlight was making dinner saturday night with some of my favorite friends.
Glad you had a great birthday dinner!
Oh my goodness! Those views would be the perfect backdrop for a wedding- lucky friend you’ve got there- her pictures will be amazing!!!!
Nothing is going to sound great when I hear the worlds chocolate fountain above- my eats don’t compare. Ooooo, do I love a chocolate fountain!
I know! I can’t wait to see the pictures, they are going to be gorgeous!! You would have loved this chocolate fountain spread…. it was taller than me and there were plenty of treats to drench in the fountain… I was in heaven.
Was the wedding at the Brooklyn Navy Yard? I went to a wedding there two years ago and it looks like the same place. Aren’t the views from Brooklyn just the best backdrop for wedding photos. I plan on taking mine there someday!
Just read your about me and saw that you’re in Jersey. Right view, wrong side of the city!
Yup, it was in Jersey City… gorgeous view!!
I love roasted chestnuts! One of my favorite things about fall.
Are any roasted chestnuts hard, or all they all soft?? For some reason I was expecting them to be hard.
That looks like so much fun. I absolutely LOVE NYC! We planted our garden this weekend.
Ohhh I’m so jealous!!! I want a garden! I can’t wait until we move into a house and have a backyard….
What a beautiful backdrop for those photos! Absolutely breathtaking. I need to visit
Fave drink from this weekend? Sangria. Lots and lots of sangria.
You come to NYC and we can hang out by that backdrop and drink sangria all day long. Best of both worlds!
You looked so pretty — I love that bridesmaid dress! You actually could wear that again!
Thank you! I loved the dress too, I’ll definetly be wearing it again!
I LOVE the bridesmaids dresses! The grey looks fabulous! Do you know where she got them? My friend is getting married and I’m a bridesmaid, and I need ideas!
Yes actually she ordered them offline from Nordstrom! They were great, and so comfortable!
Wow, I love the bridesmaids dresses!! The color is so beautiul!
The wedding cake looks amazing as well!
It tasted just as amazing as it looks
what a beautiful wedding! And you penpal packages looks good too. I have never tried that seaweed, but it kind of scares me. Seaweed can taste really funky to me.
