Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day and you’re recovering nicely.
Yesterday morning I got up, had some breakfast, and laced up my *new* sneakers for my 8 mile training run. I decided on New Balance, which I’ve loved in the past. I tried on at least 10 pairs, and these felt the best!
I felt great throughout my run until I started to have a weird pinching feeling on one of my toes. I looked down at my feet and saw what looked like a little blood coming through the top of my shoe… I stopped, took off my shoe, and sure enough…
Sorry for the gross picture, but I needed to prove to you how hardcore I am.
This has actually happened to me in the past, and I know it’s disgusting, but I think it’s because I need to cut my toenails. Guess I’m gonna have to go get a pedicure today, huh? Darn.
Anyway, I forged on and completed my run in 1:16 (9:26 pace). It was a great run! After I got home I had a big kale salad, showered up, and headed out to meet some friends for St. Patrick’s Day fun! Bobby has actually been away this weekend at a bachelor party in Savannah, so I was rolling solo!
A big group of us went to a Beirgarten in Jersey City, which is just a short train ride away. The afternoon was spent celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the best way we know how…
After a couple of beers, my stomach started grumbling, so some of us ordered a few soft pretzels to share. I had one, and planned to order some more substantial food, but I just never really got hungry enough!
Around 9, we decided to call it an early night and we all went our separate ways. Surprisingly, I still wasn’t hungry, but my sweet tooth was screaming to me. So, of course, I listened. Frozen yogurt saves the day!
I ended the night on my couch, enjoying a glass of wine and my frozen yogurt while hanging out with this little mug…
Needless to say, I woke up this morning feeling a little less than stellar. Between the beer, frozen yogurt, and wine… I’d say it was a major refueling fail. Oh well, it tasted good!
I decided to try to balance my big old fail yesterday with a nutrient dense breakfast. I blended together a TON of spinach, protein powder, almond milk, and some spoonfuls of pumpkin. I could feel my muscles thanking me as I sucked this down.
Now I’m off to do some serious spring cleaning (I am embarrassed by how dirty I have let our apartment get recently) before I go pick up my guy at the airport! Can’t wait to hug him!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Mmmm soft pretzels and fro yo, that’s a delicious mix (though, added to the beer, I can see how it might be a little rough on the tummy!!)
Im so sorry, for some reason your comments were going into spam! Just found them! Yes it was a GREAT mix… Regardless of the effects!
