Hi friends, happy Friday!
It really doesn’t get much better than St. Patrick’s Day Eve, am I right? My day was spent knee-deep in leprechaun crafts and green bagels (I promise that there is actual learning going on in my classroom, although it may seem otherwise!).
It was a sea of green in my classroom today. Some of my students were dressed like little leprechauns, it was adorable. I was also sporting the green, and even picked a matching mug for my tea during my prep period!
Please ignore the mess of junk behind me. We did a science lab yesterday and it has yet to be cleaned up.
It’s been a long week, and I am ready to relax! Within two minutes of walking in the door my sweats and glasses were on and I was parked on my couch. It feels amazing. I got a run in this morning before work so I am giving myself full permission to enjoy every single second of this!
I have a fun weekend ahead of me and I can’t wait to get it started. Tonight includes a whole lot of DVR, some takeout, and not much else! Tomorrow I have plans to get up early and get in my 8 mile run before a full day of celebrating my Irish heritage.
Are you celebrating St. Patrick’s Day? Tell me your plans!
Third Grade World…
Yesterday, I gave my students a simple writing prompt. It said “Write a story about meeting a Leprechaun.” I thought I’d share two of them that stood out to me… for two very different reasons.
Well, first we have this one…
Hahaha um…. okay. Looks like we need to do some work on our closings…. and the Leprechaun traded his pot of gold for a piece of pizza, huh? That’s an even trade right there, lemme tell ya.
And then we have this one…
Isn’t that sweet? My favorite sentence, “I wish everyone in the world had everything in the world because when other people are happy it makes me happy.”
Now answer me this… if you had a visit from Kyle the Leprechaun (in the second story), what would YOU wish for?
I wish you all have a wonderful weekend!

Those green bagels look so cool! And I bet these random holidays are so fun with kids, there are so many cool themed activities you can do! I would wish for a solid digestive system, could a Leprechaun deliver that? Haha if not, I’ll take a few new pairs of running shoes and compression socks!
Of course! Kyle the Leprechaun can deliver anything!
