Hey guys, happy sunshine! This morning was an early one for me as the moment I see sunshine peek through my blinds I feel the need to get up and at ‘em.
How was everyone’s weekend? My weekend was filled with lots of fun, and as always, it’s gone too fast.
Friday night Bobby and I went to our favorite sushi restaurant in Hoboken, The Sushi House. It’s always so fresh and they have a great selection of rolls. We weren’t disappointed! That’s not to say though, that we weren’t craving our comfies bigtime. We were at home on the couch, in our sweats by 9. Whooohoo crazy Friday night!
Saturday I got up early and got ready for a good friend’s bridal shower! The wedding is quickly approaching at the end of April, and Bobby and I are both in the wedding, so we are super excited!
The bridal shower was so much fun… lot’s of gift opening, bridal bingo playing, and delicious food! I was very busy with bridesmaids duties, so I only managed to snap a few pictures.
For part of the bridesmaids gifts, each of us chose a holiday. We then put together a basket of fun and festive things for the newlyweds to enjoy during their first year together. I chose St. Patrick’s Day….
Cute, right?
After the shower, I met up with Bobby and some friends who were at a local bar. We hung out for a bit and had some dinner and cocktails before I needed to call it a night. I knew that I had my 7 miles planned for today, and I should have been hydrating, rather than dehydrating!
I woke up this morning, had another smoothie bowl of Love, and headed out for my 7 miles. It was my first outdoor training run of the year, and it was glorious! Check out that view…
Gorgeous! The only downside to running outdoors is that it’s a huge pain to have to stop at the red lights all the while trying to weave in and out of all the people strolling along the water. Regardless, it felt great to be out in the fresh air rather than inside a stuffy gym!
7 mile success! (Please excuse the booty shot of Romo. He has no shame…)
I’m off to enjoy the rest of my Sunday and maybe try to purchase some new running shoes. I’m very picky… so it could take a while!
Have a great day!
Anyone have any running sneaker suggestions?? I need wide!
What kind of workout did you get in this weekend?

It looks like the bridal shower was beautiful! I love the holiday-themed gifts- such a cute idea!
Ahhh I wish I could run in the city!
Weekends are the best
Yea, not a bad view!
Great job on your 7 mile run! Looks like gorgeous weather and scenery! My favorite running shoes brand is either New Balance or Asics. My ankles are really loose a lot and turn, but these brands of shoes help keep my feet flat and my ankles sturdy!
Thanks! Yeah, I usually stick with my New Balance, but I’m wondering if I should try something different because my arches are really high and I have some pain sometimes. I’ll have to do some research…
I’d love to have such gorgeous running scenery!! Very nice.
I run in Brooks Pure Cadence now and LOVE them. I have wide feet and while these aren’t specifically made for wide feet (don’t think so at least), they’re perfect. They’re more minimalist than what I usually, but surprisingly supportive. I ran a 10K after not being able to run for months due to an injury without a problem. It was the first time my run was actually enjoyable. Highly recommended!
I’m so sorry, for some reason your comment went into my spam folder ad I just saw it now! Isn’t it beautiful scenery? Not a bad backdrop for a run! Thanks for the sneaker suggestion… I ended up getting new Balance which I love!
Your photo makes me miss running in Hoboken so badly. I lived there for two and a half fun-filled years. I highly recommend Fleet Feet on Washington for sneakers. They take a look at your feet, ask you a bunch of questions, and have you try on a million until you fine THE ONE. I got the Brooks Adrenaline and am on my fifth pair.
What a small world! I actually DID go to Fleet Feet just yesterday and ended up buying a pair of New Balances. Your right… they were great! I tried on at least 10 pairs.
