Last week I claimed that I would be recapping my wedding events and wedding by writing posts on “Wedding Wednesday.” Well, yesterday I decided I’d be participating in W.I.A.W., so my “Wedding Wednesday” theme has been changed… to just plain old Wedding Recap. Clearly not as catchy, but oh well!
The months leading up to our wedding was full of more excitement than I could have ever imagined. My bachelorette party weekend was held at the end of May, about two months before the Big Day. I can honestly say that (besides our wedding day), I have never felt more loved. I had ten (yes… ten) bridesmaids, some of which I have known since kindergarten and others that I met in college. They are all like sisters to me, and I couldn’t have imagined my day without any of them standing by my side.
During our weekend!
I was told nothing about my bachelorette weekend except what to pack, so my excitement was at an all time high as I climbed into the car and was told that I was being whisked away to Newport, Rhode Island! When I say that my bridesmaids pulled out all the stops for this mini vacation, I am not exaggerating. It was perfect, from start to finish.
Friday night was filled with hilarious games, prizes, cocktails, and a lot of laughter.
Arriving in Newport!
Alyssa Jeopardy! (and yes, those pictures are super imposed to have my face on a Bachelorette body!)
No bachelorette party is complete without inappropriately shaped cakes!
Saturday morning we woke up to the sun shining bright, which was perfect because my bridesmaids had planned a brunch and cocktails at the Newport Beach Yacht Club. Being surrounded by all my beautiful best friends, relaxing and chatting away while enjoying the sunshine and the sand made for an absolutely perfect afternoon.
After showering and getting all dressed up, we headed out to such a fun dinner at Christie’s in downtown Newport, where there was even a personalized menu for our party!
Everything was delicious, and they certainly kept the wine flowing throughout dinner! After an amazing dinner, we hit the town. We went to a few different bars, but actually ended up back at Christie’s because we couldn’t get over how great the music and atmosphere was.
The night quickly went from a sophisticated dinner out to the most epic dance party I’ve ever been a part of.
I mean…. really??!
Numerous times throughout the night, the bouncer was forced to physically remove us from tabletops. He certainly did not mind though, and got quite a kick out of us. We had the time of our lives, and the entire time I was in awe over how lucky I was.
The next afternoon when I got home to Bobby, I truly had no words to describe how the weekend was. As I said before, I had never felt so loved or special in my entire life, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude for everything that my bridesmaids had done for me. I will never forget a second of that weekend (well, from what I do remember…
), and I will always feel like the luckiest person in the world that I was able to “say goodbye” to my single self while being surrounded by such great girl friends.
What is your idea of a perfect bachelorette party???

This looks like such a fun party! There’s just nothing like all-girl get-togethers!
Your right… Being around all your best girlfriends is priceless!
Wow, they really went all out for you! That is so nice! It looks like a great girls’ weekend!
They really did… I couldn’t have asked for anything more! I was a lucky girl!
The dance party looks amazing. And a custom brunch? And the Jeopardy!! Love it. So fun!! My bachelorette party was pretty low key because we had SEVERAL infants in the mix, but I loved it just tehe same. Being with friends celebrating something amazing is always so sweet.
Your so right… I feel like it doesn’t matter what you do as long as your around the right people!
That looks like so much fun!! And can I just say that your hair looks AMAZING in that picture of you dancing?
I hope my bachelorette party is that much fun (whenever that time comes!)!
Hahah thanks… I think the camera caught me mid jump! I’m sure your bachelorette party will be just as amazing!
