Hi everyone! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be in my sweats, comfy and relaxed on my couch. I’ve been dreaming of this all day.
Today was never-ending. NEVERENDING I tell you!!! I fully blame it on the two hours of sleep I was running on.
Let me explain…
My brother is staying with Bobby and I for a few days while he is taking the NY Bar exam. Our apartment is closer to the testing site, so he asked if he could crash on our couch.
My brother is one of my very best friends, so of course he is always more than welcome to stay.
However, my type A personality has a hard time relaxing when my apartment looks like a hurricane has gone through it.
I know it may not look that bad, but I’m a neat freak, and this drives me nuts. So that’s reason #1 of why I had such a horrible time winding down and falling asleep last night. Just knowing that all of that was strewn around my apartment waiting to greet me this morning had my crazy mind going full speed.
Reason #2 is this crazy little thing (who decided he wasn’t feeling the paparazzi pics today…)
Recently Romo has decided that he must sleep directly on top of me. I was never aware of how much heat a little cat gives off… but now I know… and it’s a lot. No matter what I do, he finds his way on top of me. Yes, I tried locking him out of the bedroom, but then the meowing starts.
You try to fall asleep with a cat howling on the other side of your bedroom door… I dare ya.
To add to the sleeplessness, I had my dear husband snoring in my ear all night.
I was not a happy camper, lemme tell ya.
When the alarm went off this morning at 5:30 am, I quickly decided to skimp out on my early morning workout for a few extra minutes of snooze time. I knew my kiddos would be full of energy after having the week off, and would not deal well with a half asleep teacher all day.
Well, a half asleep teacher I was.
Not even a Kombucha buzz could give me the pick me up I so desperately needed.
Luckily, my students came in to school today ready to work, and we ended up having a very productive day! It made me realize that no matter how grumpy and tired I am, I belong in the classroom.
You know that you are in the right place when you’re running on two hours of sleep, and you still manage to end your work day with a smile on your face.
I apologize for a post focused on complaining, however, I’m just trying to keep it honest!
Welp, I’m making a tough decision to rectify those complaints right now folks, and make sure that tomorrow is a better day…. I’m forcing myself to forego the Bachelor tonight in favor of more sleep. Ben and Courtney’s antics are gonna have to wait until tomorrow for this girl!
*** Also, just wanted to let you know I have some fun blog plans… one being that starting this week, I’ll be sharing all the details from my wedding in weekly posts, starting from the very start.
I hope you’ll enjoy hearing about it as much as I love recapping it!
Is there anything specific you’d like to hear about regarding wedding planning or the wedding process?
